Youth Programs

In addition to Sunday morning Christian Education, we offer our youth opportunities for fellowship and service.

Wednesday Nights at Union

  • Y.C.A. (Young Christians in Action)

    Young Christians in Action (9th-12th grades). The group gathers for dinner at 5:45 p.m. and then continues with fellowship and service activities from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Each fall and spring YCA schedules a weekend retreat at Moon Beach. The group also participates in various mini work safaris throughout the year helping people and families in need. In addition, every other year the group plans and implements a weeklong work safari mission trip. All senior high students are welcome in YCA regardless of church membership. Come and join us in spreading the joy!

  • P.F. (Pilgrim Fellowship)

    Pilgrim Fellowship (5th-8th grades). The group gathers for dinner at 5:45 p.m. and then continues with fellowship and service activities from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PF activities range from swimming at the Tundra Lodge to collecting food for the food pantry to shopping for toys and clothes for an adopted Christmas family. PF is an energetic and enthusiastic crowd and is always willing to welcome new youth!

  • Confirmation

    We celebrate Confirmation every other year with our 8th and 9th graders. The pastor meets with the Confirmation Class on Wednesday’s beginning at 5:00 p.m. Confirmation is a year of exploring the faith, which culminates with youth choosing to affirm their baptism. The pastor offers instruction on the church's traditions and beliefs, and discussions are held to further understanding of our faith. Youth choose a mentor, that is an adult who has experienced the Christian journey, has something to share, cares about youth and wants to hear about their journey. On evenings designated “Mentor Night,” youth and mentors share a meal together, an experience, and conversation. Then in late spring, confirmands participate in Confirmation Sunday, celebrating in worship with the church body.

  • Youth Choir

    Union's Youth Choir is not active at this time.
